Sbarro's Chicago Deep

Yesterday, a good friend of mine delivered this mouthwatering pizza to my doorstep! Oh it feels like heaven.

I've been a long time fan of Sbarro, I've been eating their pizza since I was in my late college years. When they introduced this Chicago deep, I ordered it and when I tasted it, oh it was really heaven! You will feel so full even just with this one slice. It is stuffed with meat and their tomato dip makes it so perfect.

I am sure how much this cost now but whatever the price is, I am so sure it's so worth it. You better try it for yourself.

Lumpia Patties

We had leftovers of lumpia mix when my husband made this the other day. So we put it in the freezer and told my husband to buy lumpia wrapper so I can cook it the next day. The next day, he forgot to buy lumpia wrapper so what I did is what my sister-in-law called "Lumpia Patties". :)

Here's what you need:

leftover lumpia mix
oil for frying

How to prepare:

- Scoop a spoonful of the lumpia mix and press it and make it like the burger patties.
- Fry.

This is great partnered with sweet chili ketchup. I really love the idea of leftovers reinventing new dishes! Try this one too! If you want the recipe for Lumpiang Shanghai, you can get it here: Lumpiang Shanghai

Sauteed Pork and Baguio Beans

Since I am a fan of Del Monte, I tried one of their recipes I saw on their Facebook account, it's called Sauteed Pork and Baguio Beans.

What you need:

4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pc medium onion, sliced
2 tbsp DEL MONTE Tomato Paste
150 grams pork kasim, sliced into strips
1 ½ tbsp patis
¼ kg Baguio beans, sliced

How to Prepare:

- Saute garlic, onion and DEL MONTE Tomato Paste in 2 tbsp oil. Add pork and cook until tender.

- Add patis, ¼ tsp pepper, ½ cup water and Baguio beans. Cook for 3 minutes or until Baguio beans are almost tender.

For some reason, what I cooked seems to lack patis on it so I suggest that you check the patis you will put to this dish. This is a very easy recipe and I hope you enjoy it!

Sauteed Sayote with crunchy pork bits

When I had my veggie week here, I cooked Sayote Guisado and I again, cooked sayote but with a little twist. This time, it tastes like the one I ate when I was at my brother's house. Finally was able to cook the exact taste, but mine's not a bit crunchy, but it's still somewhat crunchy. :)

What you need:

3 pcs medium size sayote, sliced into small strips
3 sachets of oyster sauce
1 medium size ginger, chopped
1 medium size onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
P40 pork, chopped in small bits
pepper
salt
1/2 cup water

How to prepare:

- In a pan, fry the pork. Do not put oil as oil will eventually come out from the pork. Fry it until crunchy. Set aside.
- In a separate pan, saute garlic, onion and ginger. Add sayote. Add water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add oyster sauce, pepper and salt.
- Add the crunchy pork bits. Simmer for 2 minutes.

Super easy, right? My husband loved this recipe! Yeay!

Army Navy

Las Monday, me and my husband had a dinner date at Army Navy in BF Homes, Paranaque. I am a lover of mexican food and I super love burritos and quesadillas and nachos, and this is a perfect place for me.

Here's what we ordered:

2 orders of their Fearless Fried Chicken (175.00 per order)
1 order of Freedom Fries and cheese dip (95.00)
1 order Steak Quesadillas (175.00)
2 orders of large Libertea (75.00 per order)
1 Carnitas Burrito (185.00)

My husband said that their food is not that tasty. I didn't like the chicken because there was nothing so special about it except for the gravy with peppercorn on it. I love their quesadillas and I was able to eat the whole order because I didn't eat the chicken. Their freedom fries is a bit spicy and the cheese dip is okay.

We ordered burrito and had it for midnight snack, but to my dismay, it was not tasty, just like what my husband said. Maybe that is how they really prepare the food but I like Taco Bell better.

All in all, I will give Army Navy 3 stars for this one. But I am not sure whether to return here anytime soon. I am not sure if I want to spend almost a thousand pesos for this food again.
