Papa John's Pizza

I went to my brother's place yesterday and we had Papa John's pizza. I didn't know it taste so good!

I've seen their shop but I didn't expect that their food is good. I thought it was a oh-so-so pizza parlor. I ate my word. Haha.

When you order the pizza, you can add dipping sauce and pepperoncinis. I didn't try the pepperoncinis but I love the garlic dip. I checked their website and they offer a lot of food and I even saw they have Baked Rice like the one I posted about Baked Rice Melt from Greenwich!

I better visit their store soon with my hubby and try their other pizza flavor. The one we ate yesterday was All the Meats.

You can check the rest of their menus by going to their website Papa Johns and you can also like their Facebook Fan Page.

Happy Pizza eating!

Tostitos

I remember when my father arrived from Dubai, we always went shopping in Duty Free. Me and brother always buy Tostitos and their oh so yummy tomato salsa!

We went to SM for groceries and finally, I get to buy this! I miss eating this so much!

Green Mango Salad

I am a big fan of green mango, especially this green mango salad! So last week, I bought Barrio Fiesta Spicy Bagoong and decided to make a salad.

Here's what you need:

1 green mango (in the Philippines, we call it "manggang kalabaw"), chopped
2 medium size onion, chopped
3 medium size tomatoes, seeded and chopped
Barrio Fiesta Spicy Bagoong (or any shrimp paste you prefer)

How to prepare:

- Put the chopped mangoes, onion and tomatoes in a plate or bowl.
- Put shrimp paste (bagoong) in a saucer.
- You can serve it mixed or you can serve it just like what's the photo.

I swear, you'll love this!!

Chicken Balls

What you need:

1/2 kg.    chicken breast, deboned and chopped
1 pc medium onion, chopped
2 stalks green onions, chopped
1 pc. singkamas, chopped
1 pc.    egg, beaten
1 tbsp    all-purpose flour
1 stalk    green onion, cut into strips

How to cook:

- Combine chicken, onion, green onions, singkamas, egg, flour and 1/2 tsp iodized fine salt (or 1/2 tbsp iodized rock salt). Mix well.
- Instead of chopping singkamas, I grated it.
- Form into 1 tbsp balls. Deep-fry until golden brown.
- You can serve with sweet chili sauce, garlic dip or just plain catsup.
- Instead of chopping singkamas, I grated it.

My daughter loves this! She just removed the green onion stalks. Haha

Giligan's Bar and Grill (Mall of Asia)

Me and my childhood friends had lunch at Giligan's Bar and Grill last Saturday, December 22. We always love to eat and my friend Jessica pick this resto because she said that there are group meals available at a very reasonable price.

We ordered s4 for P1,042.00. The food included are:

Lechon Kawali

Chicken Lollipop
6 sticks Prok BBQ
Grilled Bangus Belly
Bulalo Soup
2 plates of white rice
6 glasses of Iced Tea

I like their BBQ because it was so tasty. I remember that we also ate here back in 2010 with my hubby when I was still pregnant with my daughter Amber.

The place is great. We arrived there past 12 noon and my friend was able to reserve table for us. The temperature was ok, the only problem is, the table my friend reserved had the aircon above and there were drops of water falling on her.

I also like their Bulalo, though I didn't eat the meat, but the soup was so great and tasty. I know they have lots of branches in Metro Manila but since this is near to my work, I like to go back here, plus it's near the mall.

Holidays!

Merry Christmas to all! I know that everyone is so busy cooking for Noche Buena tonight, but unfortunately, I am not one of them. I am currently at work and so me and my husband decided we'll have Christmas lunch tomorrow.

So what are you preparing tonight? For my family, we don't cook much on Christmas day. Our menu for tomorrow's lunch are as follows:

Inihaw na tilapia
Fiesta Ham
Spaghetti (my specialty, haha)
Graham cake (we already ate half of it today!)

I still don't have menu for New Year but my hubby wants to have barbecue and Graham cake again. I will try my best to post pictures of our menu for tomorrow, before the graham cake is gone. LOL.

Also, if I may just add, I didn't buy presents for everyone this year. I just bought shoes for my hubby, perfume for my daughter's nanny, I bought myself a floral blouse, and Disney spoon and fork and toys for my daughter. Aside from I am on a tight budget, I told myself that I will just make it up with all of them next year since we just finish all the debts this year. Fresh start for next year! I plan to start Christmas shopping in October.

In my opinion, it is not a requirement that you have lots of food, though it is great when you have plenty of food on your table, or you give everyone presents or you receive lots of presents. I believe that what is important is that everyone is happy, family are together and children cherish this Christmas season because Christmas is special for children.

So, Merry Christmas to each and everyone, no matter where you are, alone or with someone dear, at work or at home. May this season bring more blessings to all of us! Cheers!!

Greenwich's Beef and Mushroom Rice

I haven't been to Greenwich for a long time. So yesterday I told my husband to eat at Greenwich. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera and I was not able to take the photo of what I ordered.

I have been a fan of their Beef and Mushroom Rice Meal since 2004. I like the taste, especially when you put hot sauce on it (I learned this hot sauce thing from my coworker back in 2004), it just so taste almost heaven! Ahh! I just love how they bake the rice and the cheese and the mushroom, everything!

You might want to try this when you visit to the nearest Greenwich in your area. They don't offer just the pizza, they also have this great and delicious Baked Rice Melt.

Cream Dory Fillet with Garlic dip

I love creamy dory fillet especially when you have this amazing dip! Ahhh... it's so delicious! So I want to share this recipe I got from the forum I joined in.

Here's what you need:

1/2 kilo cream dory
salt and pepper
flour
beaten egg
japanese breadcrumbs
oil for frying

For the dip:

Mayo
Minced garlic
Lemon or calamansi (I used calamansi because it's cheaper)
pepper

Here's how to cook:

- Dredge dory in flour with salt and pepper, then put in egg, then in breadcrumbs.
- Do this to the rest of the dory.
- Fry, but do not overcook since this will be cooked easily because of the flour and egg.

How to make the dip:

- Mix mayo, garlic, calamansi and pepper. Adjust according to taste. Be careful in putting garlic because the more garlic, the more hot it will become.

Tokyo Tokyo

We had dinner at Tokyo Tokyo last night with my hubby and my daughter.  Me and my hubby are not a big fan of Japanese food but since I tried dining here with my friends last month, I told my hubby to try this again.

We ordered their Sumo Remix. This is good for two and we chose Prawn & Vegetable Tempura and Pork Tonkatsu. It also has 2 pcs. of fried flat potatoes and 1 onion ring, it also comes two red iced tea (we upgraded to big size). We also ordered California Maki, our all time favorite Japanese food.

The food is great, you get unlimited rice which my hubby really enjoyed. He had 4 servings of rice! Hahaha.

I just didn't enjoy the prawns because I had to buy my daughter food for her to a different fast food and my hubby said that our food was served right after I left. :(

Anyway, we will surely go back to this place again because we love shrimp and we love their California Maki! ♥

Chopsuey

I am not really into veggies, but my hubby asked me to cook veggies today. So I decided to cook Chopsuey.

half cabbage, sliced
1 big sayote, sliced
2 carrots, sliced
1 medium size cauliflower
2 chicken cubes
flour
water
onion, sliced
garlic, minced
cooking oil
salt to taste

How to cook:

- Saute garlic and onion. Then put sayote and carrots.
- Put cauliflower, cabbage and then water.
- Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Put 2 chicken cubes, salt and enough flour to make the water a little sticky.
- Put the cooked quail eggs.

Serve with fried fish or pork.

Happy Eating! ♥
