Pork Teriyaki

This is the first time that I tried cooking Pork Teriyaki. Unfortunately, I cannot find sesame seed anywhere near my place so I decided to still cook it without it. Haha. It still taste the same though, I think.

Here's what you need:

1/2 kg pork, medium cut
1 sachet of Mama Sita's Barbecue marinade (good for 1/2 kg of meat)
2 cups of togue
knob of ginger, sliced thinly
1 medium carrot, sliced thinly
1 tbsp soy sauce
pinch of ground pepper

Here's how to prepare:

- Marinade pork with Mama Sita's Barbecue marinade for 20-30 minutes. Fry pork and then set aside.
- In a separate pan, saute ginger and carrots in oil. Add togue and stir. Add soy sauce and pepper to taste.
- You can definitely add toasted sesame seeds on top of pork if you want.

Pork Stew

I was running out of recipe to cook my family and my husband was complaining that I cook the same dish every week haha. So I browsed over to one of my favorite food blog and found this yummy dish. This was supposed to be "Beef Stew" but since I don't have pressure cooker and it will take so much time for the beef to be tender, I used pork instead, hindi naman nagreklamo ang pork, in fairness. :)

Here's what you need:

1/2 kg pork, cut in cubes
3 tbsp. flour
cooking oil
1 white onion, quartered
2 beef cubes, dissolved in 1 cup of water
4 cups water
1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 star anise
ground black pepper
10 small potatoes
2 large carrots, cut into large squares
2 celery sticks, cut in 1/2 inch
10 pcs baguio beans, cut into 2 inches

How to prepare:

- Coat pork with flour, then fry. Set aside.
- Combine all ingredients except for the veggies in a casserole. Simmer for 20-30 minutes or until pork is tender.
- Add the veggies and simmer for 5-10 more minutes.

I just love how the aroma of star anise makes my tummy hungry and how it makes the dish so yummy and flavorful. My husband said this is by far the most yummy dish I've ever cooked! Woohoo!

Big Better Burgers Part 2

The first time I ate at Big Better Burgers, I ordered their Hahalapeno burger and you can check it out here. I was with my daughter that time, but this time with my daughter and husband. We had lunch here yesterday in their Waltermart Sucat branch.

Here's what we ordered:

This is what I ordered. This is their Salpicao Rice. This costs 99 pesos. I like it though it's a bit salty for my taste but all in all, this is yummy. I like the presentation that it is served sizzling hot and the garlic on top of the beef is just so yummy.

My husband ordered this, Bistro Rice also for 99 pesos. I like it because it's not too salty unlike the Salpicao Rice, but especially because it has mushrooms on it. My husband said it tastes good and the beef is juicy.

We also ordered Skin-on Fries. I am not sure why this cost 60 pesos with just about 25 to 30 pieces of fries on it. I find it just a regular fries except that it's cut is thicker than the usual.

We also ordered burger because it's Big Better Burgers right? We got to have burgers. Haha. We ordered 1/4 lb. Double Dare with cheese for 188 pesos. Me and my husband shared this burger.

Here's my share of the burger. Two burger patties on it with cheese and tomatoes and lettuce. We liked it. My husband said it was juicy and I totally agree.

We want to try their other burgers too and their other rice meals. Oh by the way, we also ordered 16 oz. Iced tea for 30 pesos.
